Kate Feldmann (Belly Belt) and Abby Black (Lala Lala) played and recorded songs together since elementary school in North Liberty, Iowa in bands such as Plane Crashes and Slow Dancing. Constantly compared to Juliana Hatfield's brand of rock, but with an unintentionally deep and dark vein that takes them toward Beach House or even Black Sabbath at times, the girls major influences lean toward more accessible pop rock like Paramore and Good Charlotte.
